Batata Harra is a Lebanese spicy potatoes side dish that's full of flavor. Easy to make and perfect to serve as part of a mezze or with grilled meat dishes!

Batata harra in Arabic literally translates to spicy potatoes, as these potatoes pack in some heat from the crushed red pepper flakes. They are widely popular in the Middle East, and don’t require any special ingredients to make them!
Batata harra is similar to the popular Spanish tapa patatas bravas, which are fried potatoes smothered in a spicy sauce.

The potatoes are fried or roasted until crispy and then tossed in a flavoruful sauce made with cilantro, garlic and crushed red pepper and finished off with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. The result is melt in your mouth potatoes.

Traditionally, the potato cubes are deep-fried until crispy, then they’re drained from excess oil on paper towels. And then, they’re shallow fried with garlic, spices, and fresh cilantro leaves.
For a healthier version, you can roast the potatoes in a 400F preheated oven for about 40 minutes, flipping halfway through. Alternately, boil the peeled potatoes until they are fork tender, but not completely cooked through. Drain the potatoes and place them on a cutting board and allow them to cool for a few minutes then cut the potatoes into bite-sized cubes.

Fluffy potatoes, fresh herbs, lime juice, and spices give you a mouthwatering skillet potato dish you will add to your regular rotation.
