I had this in Bali! Satay! Indonesian Yakitori

cookpad.japan
cookpad.japan @cookpad_jp

I was wondering what type of dish would go well with the nasi goreng (Indonesian fried rice) that I had made and then I thought of this satay! The marinade and dipping sauce are all approximate amounts, so adjust the richness and whatnot to suit your tastes!

The ingredients can be found at the import store 'Kaldi.' There really aren't any special tips. Just marinate well before grilling! If you don't have a yakitori grill, you can use a fish grill or a regular grill, or even the frying pan! For 2 servings. Recipe by U-chanchinogohan

Steps

  1. 1

This recipe is so easy. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

Combine all of the marinade ingredients in a bowl. Put the marinade and the chicken from Step 1 into a Ziploc or sealable plastic bag and let it marinate for at least 20 minutes.

  3. 3

After it has marinated thoroughly, stick the chicken on bamboo skewers. You should have 4 skewers of chicken.

  4. 4

Grill the chicken on a yakitori style rack that can be bought at hardware shops (in Japan.) If you don't have one, you can use a fish or regular grill.

  5. 5

Combine all of the ingredients for the 'Sambal Sate' dipping sauce. Place into a small but deep dish.

  6. 6

Once Step 4 has been grilled, arrange on a dish and optionally accompany with cucumbers, tomatoes, or lemon.

  7. 7

They are delicious plain but...! Try them with the dipping sauce!
