Asian/Middle eastern inspired gochujang tahini chicken
Tahini is essentially made from sesame, and sesame oil is an essential ingredient in Asian cuisine. So why not bring both worlds together by replacing one with the other?
Cooking Instructions
- 1
In a large pan, heat up some oil on medium heat and cook the garlic until fragrant (not browned) then add the chicken and stir until cooked from the outside
- 2
Add the cabbage to the chicken with salt and black pepper, stir then increase the heat.
- 3
Mix the sauce ingredients in a small bowl
- 4
Once the chicken is well cooked, the cabbage slices have tilted and most of the water has evaporated, add the sauce to the pan with the other ingredients, combine well and cook for another 2-3 minutes - you can sprinkle some furikake or sesame seeds
- 5
Top with some more sesame seeds and spring onion and enjoy!

King Oyster Mushroom Gochujang Teriyaki King Oyster Mushroom Gochujang Teriyaki
I added gochujang and shiso leaves to that recipe to create this dish that will get your appetite going even in the summer.I used delicious, thick king oyster mushrooms from Nagano prefecture.Press down on the shiso leaf while wrapping the meat to secure in place. That's the trick. The meat will be a bit sticky, so it should stick on neatly. If you mix the gochujang teriyaki ingredients together beforehand you can whip this dish up quite quickly. Sticky Asian Chicken Sticky Asian Chicken
Author of this recipe is Julia Frey Vikalinka at vikalinka.com.Was looking for a sticky Asian chicken recipe. This one is good, I added 1/2 t. crushed red pepper instead of a teaspn of chile flakes because that's what i had; I didn't have sesame seeds. I had 10 thighs and used them all. Also i didn't use parchment because I forgot. It's not as flavorful as some others I've tried with lots more ingredients. It's a bit more subtle. It was easy though with marinating overnight. Heide -

Bibimbap-Style Sweet and Salty Pork and Bean Sprout Namul On Rice Bibimbap-Style Sweet and Salty Pork and Bean Sprout Namul On Rice
This is a donburi (rice bowl) dish that I make when I don't know what to cook. Since this has plenty of meat and vegetables, you don't need any side dishes.Vinegar is not used in namul usually, but I used a small amount of the pickling vinegar from rakkyo pickles as a secret ingredient. It's slightly sweet, and it seems like it neutralizes the sesame oil. Recipe by Aromaraizu cookpad.japan -
Sweet Potato with Gochujang Sweet Potato with Gochujang
When I was eating "Shiitake Mushroom with Gochujang", I thought it might be good with sweet potatoes. The seasoning might be too strong, depending on your taste. You can increase the amount of sweet potatoes if you like.Katakuriko is used in the shiitake mushroom version, but it's not used in this recipe. That's why you only need a bit of sesame oil. Chicken Gochujang Teriyaki Chicken Gochujang Teriyaki
This is a recipe that I thought of when making my bento one day.*My homemade gochujang contains less chili peppers so isn't as spicy as some store-bought ones. If you're using a store-bought one then please either adjust the amount of gochujang or add more cooking sake. Or, you can use store-bought yakitori sauce. Recipe by Yuuyuu0221 cookpad.japan
