Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cupraw peanuts
  2. 1 poundgrassfed ground beef
  3. 2 Tspsugar
  4. 1huge hothouse tomato
  5. 1large white onion
  6. 1sweet red pepper
  7. 1hot thai dried pepper
  8. 1 cupgreen cabbage
  9. 1large wintercarrot
  10. 1 Cupwhite wine
  11. 1 Tspground ginger
  12. 1 Tspground cumin
  13. 1/2 cupChopped fresh cilantro
  14. 4Chopped cloves of elephant garlic
  15. 1 Cupbasmati rice
  16. 2 cupswater
  17. 1 teaspoonturmeric
  18. 1 teaspoonsoy sauce
  19. Habanero fermented pepper sauce
  20. Equipment: wok with lid, small cast iron sauce pan with lid for rice
  21. Cost: ground beef $4, wine $1, veggies $2, rice, other $1, $2 per dinner

Cooking Instructions

    Roast peanuts in dry wok till fragrant. Add ground beef and heat on low fire till fat has melted. Add sugar to caramelize and brown the meat.

    Add sliced vegetables, garlic, ginger, cilantro and cumin to ground beef and roasted peanut mix. Add wine, simmer at low heat with lid on, stir till carrots feel soft, about fifteen minutes. Taste this mild flavorful fresh dish. Add a teaspoon of pepper sauce at a time to your liking for your level of spicyness.

    Bring rice with turmeric and soy sauce in water to rolling boil in small cast iron pan, stir once, lid on, turn heat off, let sit an hour till soft.

    Serve stirfried ground beef and vegetables with sauce with a serving of rice. Enjoy.
