Make a paste of one onion along with 2 green chillies.Marinate chicken with lemon juice, onion green chilli paste, ginger garlic paste, black pepper powder, kasoori methi, 1 tbsp yogurt and 1/2 tsp salt for an hour or preferably overnight. Meanwhile pluck the methi leaves from the stalk.Chop, wash thoroughly and strain water completely.

Make a paste of rest of yogurt, tomato and malai and set asde.Heat oil in a pan and sprinkle cumin,fennel and methi seeds.

When the seeds sizzle, add finely chopped onion and saute till golden brown.Add the marinated chicken pieces along with the marination and stir fry for few minutes.Add all the dry spice powders.Add the tomato, yogurt and fresh cream or malai paste, salt to taste and cook covered in low to medium.flame till water releases from chicken.Add 1 cup water.Cover and cook for 15 minutes till oil separates from masala.Add methi leaves.

Toss to mix well.Cook for 2 minutes till the leaves wilt. Sprinkle garam masala, 1 tsp ghee and slit green chillies.

Sprinkle chopped coriander. Mix well. Tasty Methi Chicken curry is ready to be served.Serve hot with steamed or jeera rice, pulao, roti or any Indian flatbread.
