PREPARING THE PORK CHOPS WITH MARINADE
In a small bowl, mix the rice wine, soy sauce, garlic powder, ginger, and salt.
Pat the pork chops dry on both sides with paper towels.
Coat the pork chops with the marinade and refrigerate for 2 hours. - 2
SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE
In a small bowl, mix the water with the cornstarch, Hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and brown sugar. - 3
In a saucepan over medium heat, heat the vegetable oil and sesame oil. Sauté the garlic, ginger, and shallots.
Add the sauce mixture, bring to a boil, let it thicken, and keep warm over very low heat. - 4
Heat a grill or grill pan. Sear and cook the pork chops on both sides.
Serve the pork chops with the sweet and sour sauce.
You can serve the pork chops with rice and sautéed vegetables. - 5
