Mathura Peda
Steps
- 1
Take khowa or mawa and grind it once without adding any water so that it becomes smooth.
- 2
Now heat a pan and add 1 tbsp of ghee in it. Then add this khowa mixture in it. Keep the flame low and keep stirring it continuously so that it doesn't gets burnt. You will notice that the mixture will turn little bit liquid consistency as shown below. At this point of time add little condensed milk in it as per your sweet taste. Now mix everything well.
- 3
Keep stirring it continuously. Slowly and gradually you will start noticing that the colour of the khowa/mawa had started changing.
- 4
Further cook it until it becomes brownish in colour. Add cardamom powder at this stage. When the khowa becomes crumbly in texture, switch off the flame at this stage.
- 5
Let it cool down little bit. Then add castor sugar to it and start mixing it well, usingyour hands. Remember, you have already used condensed milk before so adjust the sugar consistency accordingly.
- 6
Once everything is mixed well, put this mixture into a grinding jar and grind it well for about 10 seconds. You will get a nice texture after this process. It will become a soft dough-kind. Now make flat balls out of it.
- 7
Finally coat each one of them with castor sugar. Your Mathura Pedas are now ready to serve.
