Easy Slow Cooker Pork Belly and Daikon

Even if you're not great at cooking, you can easily make an authentic-tasting dish with this simple slow cooker pork and daikon recipe. The pork is tender like braised pork belly, and the daikon absorbs the flavors, while the eggs turn out like marinated eggs.
The origin of this recipe
I happened to see a slow cooker on a TV shopping channel and was captivated by how easily it could create authentic flavors. I bought one online and the first thing I made was this pork and daikon dish. I was amazed at how different it tasted compared to when I made it in a pot, especially the flavor of the meat.

Steps
- 1
Make boiled eggs. Cut the daikon into round slices and trim the edges. Slice or julienne the ginger. Cut the leek into large rings.
- 2
Cut the pork into chunks of about 3.5 oz per person. Season with salt and pepper if desired, and sear the surface in a hot pan without oil until browned.
- 3
Place the seared pork, daikon, eggs, seasonings, ginger, and leek into the slow cooker. Turn it on! Cook on high for 5 hours or until done.
- 4
For working individuals (like me), set the slow cooker to high for 4 hours in the morning, and when you return home, turn it on again for about 2 more hours until perfectly cooked.

I use a Twinbird slow cooker with a timer. It's a convenient and excellent appliance available for around $50.

☆ If you use leaner cuts of meat, they may turn out dry. Thanks to konchikichin for this information. Thank you! ☆
