Ingredients

  1. 6 slicespork belly (thinly sliced)
  2. 10shishito peppers
  3. 2cherry tomatoes
  4. 1-2 teaspoonssoy sauce (about 5–10 ml)
  5. To taste coarsely ground black pepper
  6. 1small amount garlic paste (from a tube)
  7. 1 teaspoonvegetable oil (about 5 ml)

Steps

  1. 1

    Cut the pork belly slices in half. Thread the meat onto skewers in a zigzag pattern. Alternate with shishito peppers and pork as you go.

    Make 2 skewers with cherry tomatoes at the end, just like in step 1. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.

    Heat a frying pan and add the vegetable oil. Arrange the skewers in the pan. Once they are nicely browned, blot excess fat with a paper towel.

    Add the soy sauce, garlic paste, and coarsely ground black pepper. Toss to coat, then serve.

    Feel free to use any vegetables you like. You can also use a whole slice of pork belly instead of cutting it in half—just increase the amount of meat as needed.
