This is a recipe passed down from my mom who calls them "breakfast cookies," which I love.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

Combine shortening, sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla.
- 3
Blend dry ingredients into wet ingredients.
- 4
Stir in pecans, dates, and 1/3 cup chopped maraschino cherries.
- 5
Crush corn flakes.
- 6
Roll 1 inch balls in corn flakes.
- 7
Place on greased baking sheet and top with 1/2 of a marachino cherry (push in slightly).
- 8
Bake at 375 for 12 minutes.
