Homemade Mild Gyoza Dipping Sauce

I made a gyoza dipping sauce using mild rice vinegar. The ratio is soy sauce to mild vinegar = 1:1. The sauce is easy to eat without the sharpness of regular vinegar.
Recipe background:
I received a bottle of mild rice vinegar, and since it was gyoza night and we were almost out of sauce, I decided to make this.

Ingredients

Serves 1 serving
  1. 2 tablespoonsmild rice vinegar (about 30 ml)
  2. 2 tablespoonssoy sauce (about 30 ml)
  3. Pinchsalt
  4. A fewdrops of sesame oil (use chili oil for a spicy, adult version)

Steps

    Combine all the ingredients in a small dish and mix well. Adding a little salt and sesame oil makes it even tastier.

    For a spicy, adult version, add chili oil.

    You can also use shichimi togarashi (Japanese seven spice) instead of chili oil for another spicy option.

    If using a stronger or more sour vinegar, try substituting sugar for the salt to balance the flavor.
