If you're tired of regular sauce yakisoba, try this version! Feel free to use any vegetables you like. It's perfect for lunch, dinner, or sharing as a late-night snack or even a light meal for two.
Recipe Background:
I usually make this simple shio yakisoba by eyeballing the ingredients and using leftover veggies, but since it's been so popular, I decided to write down the recipe.

Steps

  1. 1

Cut the pork, cabbage, and bell pepper into bite-sized pieces. Thinly slice the onion and carrot. In a small bowl, mix together the water, lemon juice, and grated garlic.

  2. 2

Heat the sesame oil in a frying pan. Add the noodles, break them apart, and stir-fry. Remove the noodles from the pan and set aside.

  3. 3

Add 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (not listed in ingredients) to the pan and heat. Stir-fry the pork and dried sakura shrimp. When the pork changes color, add the carrot, onion, cabbage, and bell pepper in that order, stir-frying after each addition.

  4. 4

Season with salt and black pepper. Return the noodles to the pan and quickly stir-fry everything together. Add the water, lemon juice, and garlic mixture, chicken bouillon powder, and more black pepper. Stir-fry briefly to combine.

  5. 5

Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt if needed. Serve on a plate and sprinkle with white sesame seeds if you like.
