Homemade Tomato Puree for Using Up Cherry Tomatoes

Cherry tomatoes from the home garden that never seem to decrease (lol). Let's make them into puree with a little extra effort.
The origin of this recipe
In a home garden, you can grow a lot, but you can't eat that many (>_<). Peeling cherry tomatoes is a hassle, so I initially blended them all, but it resulted in a unique smell. After some trial and error, I settled on the current method.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
No matter how many cherry tomatoes you pick from the home garden, they never seem to decrease. This time, I used two colanders full. We have various types of tomatoes, including yellow ones.
- 2
Cut all of them in half.
- 3
Put them in a pot and heat. It's okay to leave the skins on.
- 4
Stir occasionally.
- 5
The moisture is coming out! (^^)
- 6
When it reaches this point, mash them with a ladle while simmering.
- 7
When they become this soft,
- 8
While still warm, strain them through a strainer. (If you don't have a strainer, a colander is okay)
- 9
It's done! (*≧∀≦*)
You can use it for various things from here—like making meat sauce or tomato curry. - 10

Homemade Tomato Sauce Homemade Tomato Sauce
This is a recipe I got from a cooking specialist that I really respect. I've made this countless times over the past 10+ years and added my own spin. It's a very special recipe.Above all else, it's very crucial to simmer the onions for 20 minutes. This is what brings out their sweetness. Since you'll be simmering over low heat, it won't stick to the pan. But be sure to mix from the bottom occasionally! I always make twice the amount and freeze leftovers. Recipe by Anchomai. Yields about 600 ml. cookpad.japan -
Basic Homemade Tomato Sauce Basic Homemade Tomato Sauce
10 years ago, I heard Chef Ochiai (a celebrity chef in Japan) saying that if you roast whole vegetables, you can really bring out their umami and fragrance to make a rich sauce! And that you could store the sauce in the refrigerator! I've been making my own version at home and keeping it on hand since then. When sautéing the aromatic vegetables, brown them properly in order to make a rich tasting tomato sauce. Then, just simmer! Since the aromatic vegetables are removed, I could keep the sauce in containers sterilized with boiling water for more than a month in the refrigerator. You can use this sauce on pasta, on sautéed chicken, in egg dishes and all sorts of recipes. Recipe by kebeibiko cookpad.japan -

Hand Made Tomato Ketchup (Purée) Hand Made Tomato Ketchup (Purée)
I love making ketchup with a bunch of ripe tomatoes. This flavor is unforgettable.Step 6 is cooked over high heat. Please remove the scum carefully (There's no need to worry about burning at this stage.) It burns easily once you add the onions, so be careful then. The most important point is the amount of salt. Feel free to taste test after adding a teaspoon. Even if there's not enough salt, it won't really taste like anything. Recipe by commeline cookpad.japan -

Simple Tomato Sauce Simple Tomato Sauce
I thought of a simple tomato sauce that would work well with all kinds of cooking.*If you don't have a blender, you can use canned chopped tomatoes. *If you're using fresh tomatoes, chop them up and then heat them in the microwave (I cooked 3 tomatoes for 5 minutes). Please simmer them after blending. If you want to preserve the fresh taste of the tomatoes, then you don't have to add them to the blender. Recipe by Yuuyuu0221 cookpad.japan -
Classic homemade tomato soup Classic homemade tomato soup
Nothing helps a long day and a cold winter like grilled cheese and tomato soup. But when you want to make a comforting, gooey grilled cheese and you make the horrible discovery that you have no tomato soup the world seems a little darker. But no worries! With a little scouring in the pantry you can whip up that old comfort food like no can could ever offer. I paired it with a cheddar grilled cheese on 12 grain with a bit of oregano. Basic Tomato Sauce Basic Tomato Sauce
All-purpose, basic tomato sauce is not just limited to italian dishes - it's adaptable in many ways, so please try this out.If sterilizing jars is too much work, you can freeze the sauce in ziplock bags. The reason why I used different size jars is that I use different amounts when use the tomato sauce for making pizza sauce vs. making pasta sauce. I haven't added any spices or herbs, and just a minimal amount of salt, so that the sauce can stay flexible enough to be used in various recipes. Recipe by Ulisse cookpad.japan -
Easy Tomato Jam Made with Canned Tomatoes Easy Tomato Jam Made with Canned Tomatoes
Tomatoes are packed with umami. Canned tomatoes are picked when they are at their best and ripest. You can stock them year-round, and you don't need a cutting board and knives either. You don't even have to measure it out. I thought there's nothing as convenient as this, and so I created this recipe.Simmer until the volume is reduced to about 60%. If you want to keep the jam for a long time, add extra sugar. As you simmer and reduce the tomatoes, they will sink to the bottom of the pot. It burns easily, so near the end of the simmering process keep on stirring up the pot from the bottom. Recipe by Pabuchan cookpad.japan -
