Ingredients

  1. 1 1/8 lbscooked, shredded pork (about 500 grams)
  2. 4dried ancho chiles
  3. 2dried guajillo chiles
  4. 1/2 cupoil (120 ml)
  5. 2 teaspoonssalt
  6. 1 teaspoongarlic powder
  7. 1 teaspoonground black pepper
  8. 1/2 teaspoonground cumin
  9. 1/2 teaspoononion powder

  1. 1

    Blend all the spices with the dried chiles until smooth.

  2. 2

    In a saucepan, heat the oil. Add the chile spice mixture and fry for 1 minute. Add the shredded pork, stirring constantly to coat the meat well with the sauce. Cook for 15 minutes.

  3. 3

    If you want to preserve it, place the mixture in jars and process in a hot water bath for 40 minutes.
