Ingredients

  • 1whole chicken, cut into 10 pieces
  • 2onions, sliced into wedges
  • 2tomatoes, sliced
  • Mixed vegetables, sliced (zucchini, carrots, bell pepper, green beans, peas, potatoes)
  • For the sauce:
  • 1 cupwater (about 240 ml)
  • 1 tablespoonturmeric
  • 1 pinchblack pepper
  • 1 tablespoonhoney
  • 2 tablespoonsolive oil
  • 1 tablespoonground cilantro
  • 1 cantomato sauce
  • Salt, to taste

Steps

  1. 1

    Arrange the chicken pieces in a tagine or oven-safe dish.

  2. 2

    Place the vegetables on top of the chicken.

  3. 3

    In a large bowl, mix all the sauce ingredients well, then pour the sauce evenly over the vegetables.

  4. 4

    Cover the tagine and bake at 350°F (180°C) for 1.5 to 2 hours.

    Serve with white rice flavored with saffron and rose water. Enjoy!
