Carrot masala vadas

My mother often makes vadas and recently she made vadas which cabbage which turned out very tasty. Inspired by her experiments, I too thought of making vadas with some healthy vegetable. Thus tried my hand at making vadas by adding grated carrot. enjoy these fritters with a cup of hot tea!

Drain the soaked chana dal. Add the dal to the blender jar. Keep aside 2 tablespoon on dal aside.

Grind the dal along with ginger and green chilies to a coarse paste.
Transfer the coarse paste to a vessel. Add cumin powder, salt and mix well. - 3
Add the remaining chana dal, grated carrot and chopped coriander leaves.
Mix well and make small lemon sized balls and keep aside. - 4
Heat oil for frying in a small skillet/kadai.
Take one ball of batter and flatten it on your palm. To ensure these vadas do not stick to your palm, rub a little oil on your palm and make these vadas. - 5
Drop one by one, these vadas in oil and deep fry until they turn golden brown in colour.
Remove and serve with tomato sauce.
