Green beans are perfect for tempura. Story behind this recipe: I made it because I had a lot of green beans.

Wash the green beans thoroughly.

Trim off the stems.

Trim off the tips as well.

After trimming both ends, set the beans aside.

Lightly dust the green beans with some tempura batter mix.

Mix the tempura batter mix with water according to the package instructions.

Pour oil into a frying pan and heat to 350°F (180°C).

Dip 3–4 green beans at a time into the tempura batter.

Coat the beans evenly with the batter.

Place the coated beans in the frying pan and fry for about 3 minutes.

Remove when golden and crisp.

Serve with tempura dipping sauce or salt, as you like.
