Easy Homemade Chicken Kebab Style

★Thanks for 100 reviews★ I loved the chicken kebab at a Turkish restaurant, so I made my own version! Using chili powder makes it easy and the flavor is spot on.
The origin of this recipe
I had chicken kebab at a Turkish restaurant. I was surprised because I thought kebabs were only made with lamb or beef. It was so delicious that I adapted it for home! Slicing raw chicken thighs thinly is tough, so I pre-cook them in the microwave. Once cooked, slicing thinly is a breeze! Butter rice is recommended.

Ingredients

Serves 2 servings
  1. 1 piece(about 10 1/2 oz) chicken thigh
  2. 1-1 1/2 teaspoons★chili powder
  3. 1/4 teaspoon★salt
  4. Thousand Island dressing
  5. 2 tablespoonsmayonnaise
  6. 1/2 tablespoonketchup
  7. 1 tablespoonvegetable oil
  8. 1 pinchchili powder
  9. 1 teaspoonsugar

Steps

    Spread the chicken thigh on a plate, sprinkle lightly with sake, and microwave for 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
    *It's okay if it's raw since it will be cooked later.

    Slice thinly to about 3/4 inch length.
    *Imagine slicing doner kebab meat.

    Mix the meat with the ★ ingredients.

    Sear lightly until browned.
    *No oil needed, cook on high heat without touching for 1 minute, then stir roughly once it starts to brown. Overcooking will make it tough.

    Chili powder used this time (purchased at Kaldi)

    Cook rice slightly firm, then mix with 1 teaspoon butter and a pinch of salt (for one bowl of rice).

    Make Thousand Island dressing and pour over the meat.

    You can use a toaster oven instead of a frying pan. Line a tray with aluminum foil, spread the meat evenly, heat for 3 minutes, and it's done.

    You can also serve it on lettuce as a rice bowl. It's delicious with shredded cheese on top, like taco rice.
