Mix ketchup into the rice. Using plastic wrap, shape the rice into separate pieces for the face, ears, and hands.

Attach the ear pieces to the face, adjusting for balance. Use plastic wrap to help shape and smooth the pieces together.

For the body, mix the remaining ketchup rice with sausage or your favorite fillings. Shape it into an oval using plastic wrap.

Trace and cut out the ears and mouth from the slice of cheese using a toothpick.

Cut out the eyes, nose, and mouth from the nori with kitchen scissors. (Also cut pieces for Kiiroitori if making it.)

Soak the quail egg in a mixture of curry powder and water to add color.

Cook two thin omelets. Fold one to make a pillow. To add height, place a rectangular piece of processed cheese inside the pillow.

Place the face on the pillow, then arrange the body and hands. Cover with the second thin omelet. For a neat look, tuck the edges of the omelet around the face.

Attach the cut cheese and nori pieces, adjusting for balance. For an authentic Rilakkuma look, place the eyes slightly apart and lower on the face.

Use a bamboo skewer to dab ketchup onto the cheeks.

Add eyes and a mouth to the colored quail egg. For the mouth, thinly slice red ham, cut it into a circle, and attach it with mayonnaise as glue.

Draw a heart on the omelet blanket with ketchup to finish!
