Uttapam word is coming from Tamil language. Meaning of uttapam is dosa. But uttapam is a thick pancake.
Uttapam is a traditional made with rice split Bengal gram and toppings such as tomatoes onion green chillies Ginger coriander leaves etc.
Masala Mini uttapam is very traditional dish of South India. It is often eaten with sambar or coconut chutney.

Ingredients

For 4 person
  • 500 gRaw Rice(arwa rice)
  • 250 gSplit Bengal Gram
  • as neededSalt
  • 150 ml.Oil
  • For Masala
  • 100 gChopped Onione
  • 50 gGreen Chilli Chopped
  • 15 gGinger chopped
  • 50 gTomatoes
  • 50 gCoriender leaves

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash and soak rice and Dal over night

  2. 2

    Put in a blender and grind to a light portion paste keep aside in a warm place for four hours

  3. 3

    Mix the all ingredients of a masala and salt

  4. 4

    Heat the tawa and Greece it well spread small batter of uttapam and cover it cook on medium flame

  5. 5

    Remove the cover and turn the uttapam and cook 4 other side and serve with coconut chutney Or sambar
