Make toasted panko breadcrumbs in the microwave.

Cut the onion into wedges. (Cut 1/4 onion into 4 pieces, then separate them in half.)

Wrap each onion piece with pork and season with salt and pepper.

Dip in the batter, coat with toasted panko, and bake at 430°F (220°C) for 10 minutes. Flip and bake for another 10 minutes.
