It's a simple side dish to go with Rotis, Phulkas, Parathas and even Rice. Made with everyday simple spices along with a touch of freshly grated Coconut would definitely make your mealtimes good.
Lunch or Dinner, it's perfect for everytime. These are less mild and not very hot. Choose fresh one's whenever you plan to make it.
The best part is that it stays good for 3-4 days in the refrigerator. Lemon juice can be added for both flavour and longer shelf life as well.
Grated Ginger or Ginger Garlic Green Chilli paste can be added accordingly. A piece of Jaggery would enhance the taste and texture. It gets done easily and doesn't require long hours of working in the kitchen.

Wash the chillies thoroughly and pat dry at first. Make a slit in the centre all through the end of them but take care not to cut them into two halves. Deseed them as much as possible. Set aside.

Heat oil in a pan or a kadai. Add cumin and mustard seeds both. Let them crackle and splutter before adding asafoetida, ginger garlic green chilli paste and curry leaves. Now add the chillies along with the powdered spices and coconut.

Mix and cook on a low to medium high heat with a lid on. It gets done quickly. Halfway through add a piece of jaggery. Cook for a few more minutes. That's it.

Adjust salt and it's all ready to be served. Serve it as a yummy side dish to many an important meals. It goes well with both Rotis and Rice. Enjoy!
