Black Raspberry Ice Cream Black Raspberry Ice Cream
Back in the late 70's, early 80's, there was this ice cream shop in the Provincetown section of Cape Cod, called The Big Bad Wolf. I barely remember it, but my family loved it. Supposedly, they had the best ice cream. To this day, one of my brothers still raves about their black raspberry ice cream. We have tried it at other places, but he claims that they do not taste the same. BBW had the best.15 years ago, when I first got an ice cream maker, I was determined to make my own version. First obstacle? Black raspberries are hard to come by in NYC. Solution? My pops suggested that I use black raspberry jelly. Second obstacle? That jelly is hard to find around here, unless you want to buy an overpriced brand. When I am lucky enough to find the jelly, I have made the ice cream. This past year, Amazon started selling the jelly for a great price. That was a game changer. I can now make this ice cream more often. My picky brother says that mine is the best that he has had, but BBW is slightly better. I'll take it.Enjoy! J.A.B. -
Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Pops Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Pops
We didn't have fresh cream, plus I don't feel comfortable using raw eggs in the Philippines... so I used milk thickened with flour instead (I heard a rumor that Cebu ice cream is made by adding starch to milk, so I tried the flour). It turned out delicious!Make sure to mix the flour in well in Step 1 so that it doesn't form lumps.Microwave cooking times vary depending on the oven, so be careful not to let the milk boil over.If you are cooking the sauce on the stove top, be careful not to let it boil too by adjusting the heat, or taking the pan off the heat occasionally and mixing. For 2 to 3 ice trays worth. Recipe by Nooko cookpad.japan -

Refreshing Fruit Popsicles Refreshing Fruit Popsicles
Everyone needs a refreshing but healthy popsicle in this weather and though I don't like berries much, of course you can switch out the tropical fruits that I love for strawberries, raspberries, melons, peaches, kiwis, etc, just make sure to sieve fruits with seeds if you like.Ps: Use 1 cup of pineapple cubes if you are not going to strain the pineapple puree.
