Hello..
This is my first post on Cookpad. I've often looked at recipes and tried them, but I was too lazy to share.. hehe

I've been craving cake because of early pregnancy cravings... but I didn't bring my baking equipment, which I left in Malang, and I'm too lazy to buy new ones 😂😂.
Actually, I just moved a month ago to join my husband (newlyweds 😄😄) from Malang to Boyolali. So, I'm too lazy to carry stuff.. it's so far..

There were some overripe Raja Nangka bananas in the fridge.. so I decided to make a cake with whatever equipment I had..
- no mixer: just use a whisk
- no scale to measure: just use a spoon (plus instinct 😂😂)
- no oven: just use a rice cooker

*the result: it really rose and cooked perfectly like using an oven😁😁

  • 12 tablespoonsgranulated sugar (can be adjusted to taste)
  • blueband cake & cookies - melted (200g package, use half)

  • 17 tablespoonsall-purpose flour (I used MILA flour)
  • 1 teaspoonbaking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoonbaking soda

Steps

  1. 1

Mix Ingredients A until smooth using a whisk: eggs + sugar first, once smooth and slightly thickened, add the mashed banana (just mash with a fork until smooth), then add the melted butter - mix again with the whisk until smooth

  2. 2

Prepare the rice cooker, I used a medium-sized one. Then press the 'cook' button. This is to heat the container. To get a 'crispy' bottom.. wait until it clicks back up. Unplug the cable.. let it sit for a bit. Then grease it with a little margarine

  3. 3

Mix Ingredients B until smooth, then pour Ingredients A into it. Mix until smooth, don't overmix, to avoid it becoming dense. *The texture will be slightly thick, not too runny*

  4. 4

Pour the batter mixture into the rice cooker container that has been greased with margarine. Add toppings as desired. (I just added a little chocolate sprinkles)

  5. 5

Turn on the rice cooker, then press the 'cook' button. Once the button returns to the 'warm' position, let it sit for a bit, then press the button to 'cook' again. Repeat this step up to 5 times. (Cover the rice cooker with a cloth to prevent water from dripping onto the batter)

  6. 6

Test with a fork, if it doesn't stick.. it's done

Here's my banana cake after being taken out of the rice cooker mold..
