Summer break has started, so I made grass jelly with my child—her favorite treat. This is a simple dessert that comes together quickly.
Steps
- 1
These are all the ingredients you need. For making taro balls, you can refer to a recipe on cookpad.com. This time, I didn’t use a mold—just rolled the dough into logs and cut into pieces for a chewier texture.
- 2
Mix the potato starch evenly with a little water. Kids can help with this step.
- 3
Pour the grass jelly powder into the hot water and stir until dissolved. Add the potato starch mixture and continue stirring. Let it cool, then refrigerate until set.
- 4
Scoop the grass jelly into serving bowls. Chill the cooked taro balls, then add them to the grass jelly.
- 5
Since the grass jelly isn’t sweetened, drizzle some sweetened condensed milk on top. Now your child’s homemade taro ball and condensed milk grass jelly dessert is ready!
