Break the coconut and greet it.. Put the kadai on low flame add ghee and cut dry fruits fry it, then add grated coconut and jaggery and mix it well.cook this mixture until jaggery will melt and mix it in coconut,add cardamom powder. When the mixture becomes dry turn off the flame.this is the saran of modak. Let it cool.

Now put one pot on gas on low flame, add water a pinch of salt and ghee 1 Tbsp, let it boil. Now add rice flour when water gets boiled and mix it wel. Keep the lead from 1 to 2 min and off the flame. Keep this for 5 min.

Now knead the dough with the hand of water and make a small ball and roll it on rolling board.

Now add the above saran and make modak kali, gently and close it.make all modak in this way. In a stainer apply some oil and keep modak and keep this stainer on boiling water keep lead on it. Cook this for 5 to 7 min off the flame, let it cool.

Now serve the modak with 1 tsp ghee on it. Make 21 modak for Ganpati bappa's bhog. You can add kesar stains soaked in warm milk.
