Ingredients

20 minutes
6 servings
  • 2 cupsMakhana/ lotus seeds / foxnuts (sieved and cleaned)
  • 1 cuproasted peanuts
  • 1 teaspoonred chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoondry mango powder
  • 1/4 teaspoondry ginger powder
  • 1/2 teaspoonsugar powder (if you like.)
  • 1 tablespoonpure cow's ghee

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    First, heat the ghee in a deep kadhai. Add the makhana and roast well for 5 minutes on low flame.

    Then add the peanuts and slow roast for 5 minutes.

    Check if the makhana is crunchy by pressing with fingers. If it gets crushed, it's done. Turn off the heat.

    Then mix all the masala in 1 teaspoon melted ghee. Mix in the makhana and peanut mixture. Keep turning and mixing in the same kadhai for 5 minutes.

    Serve with tea or juice. Cool at room temperature and store in a clean stee box with lid. Enjoy. Happy Janmashtami 🙏🏻
