Boil chana with some water and salt. Give 6 to 7 whistles. Once cooker is cool, open the lid and take a spoonful chana and mash it.

In a pan, add oil. Once oil is hot, add Asafoetida and green chillies, ginger and garlic. Add red chilli powder and water mix. Add mashed chana and saute for some time on low flame.

Add boiled chana in it. Adjust the salt. Continue to cook till water is evaporated. Serve hot.
