Lumpia

Lumpia and spring rolls are both popular fried or steamed pastries filled with various ingredients, but they have some differences.
Lumpia is a Filipino version of spring rolls, typically filled with a mixture of vegetables, meat, or seafood. The wrapper is usually thinner and more delicate than spring roll wrappers.
Spring rolls, on the other hand, are a more general term that encompasses various types of rolled pastries from different cultures, including Chinese, Vietnamese, and Indonesian cuisines. The fillings and wrappers can vary greatly depending on the region and recipe.
So, while both lumpia and spring rolls are delicious and popular snacks, lumpia is a specific type of spring roll that originated in the Philippines.

Steps
- 1
In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped vegetables, minced meat green onions, garlic, soy sauce, and oyster sauce, pepper& salt (if using). Mix well.
- 2
Lay a lumpia wrapper on a flat surface. Place about 1 to 2 tablespoon of the filling mixture in the center of the wrapper.
Brush the edges of the wrapper with a small amount of water.
Fold the bottom half of the wrapper over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll up the wrapper to form a tight cylinder. - 3
Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
5. Heat about 2-3 inches of vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add a few of the lumpia to the pan (do not overcrowd). - 4
Fry the lumpia until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels.
7. Serve the lumpia hot with a dipping sauce of your choice. Enjoy!
