Green Tomato Chutney (Hare Tamatar ki Chutney)

Green tomato chutney, also known as 'raw tomato chutney,' is a delicious, spicy, and tangy condiment. Green tomatoes and green chilies are roasted for flavor, then blended with cilantro and spices to make this super tasty and simple chutney. Green tomatoes are firm, tart, acidic, and almost crunchy in texture, and they are much less juicy than ripe tomatoes.

Wash and clean the tomatoes. I used both green and a few slightly red tomatoes here. Cut the tomatoes in half.

Heat oil in a pan. Add the chopped tomatoes, then add green chilies and garlic. Sauté the tomatoes on low heat, then flip and cook the other side.

Once the tomatoes are cooked, remove the skins. Let them cool slightly, then blend the tomatoes in a chopper or blender. Add cilantro leaves and radish, and blend everything together.

Add salt, roasted cumin powder, and lemon juice. Mix everything well.

Your tangy green tomato chutney is ready. Serve it with dal and rice or with roti.
