Hari Moong Dal khichdi is a traditional Punjabi Cuisine recipe specially prepared on festive occasions like sankranti with Aloo, cumin seeds tadka and Desi ghee . This recipe is a great one-pot meal idea for the weekend lunch or the light summer meal.
Steps

Peel, wash and chop Aloo and onion lengthwise.
Wash and grate tomato. - 2
Wash rice 2-3 times in running water. Soak in water for 10 minutes.

Wash and soak Hari moong chhilka dal for 30 minutes.

Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds, black pepper seeds, cloves, cinnamon sticks, black cardamom and saute in ghee for 2 minutes.

Add chopped Aloo and onions and saute till pinkish. Add grated tomatoes and saute for 1 minute.

Add rice and soaked Hari moong dal and salt and mix.

Add water and stir. Place the lid and cook till 2 whistles and switch off the flame. Let pressure release automatically.
👉Open the lid and stir rice. - 8
Serve hot with boondi Raita and salad
