This Texas-style pork recipe features a spicy barbecue sauce that's easy to make in the slow cooker. Serve the shredded pork on toasted buns for a perfect meal.

Pour a little olive oil in the bottom of the slow cooker and place the pork shoulder inside.

In a bowl, make the barbecue sauce by mixing all the sauce ingredients together well.

Pour the barbecue sauce over the pork in the slow cooker, making sure the meat is well coated. Cook on low for 10 to 12 hours or on high for 5 to 6 hours, until the pork shreds easily with a fork.

Remove the pork and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix it with the remaining sauce.

Spread butter on the inside of both halves of the hamburger buns. Toast them in a skillet over medium heat, buttered side down, until golden brown, or bake in the oven at 350°F (170°C) for 5 minutes.

Spoon the pulled pork onto the toasted buns and enjoy! I like to add fresh pickles inside too!
