Sweet Potato Tikki Chaat

Sweet Potato Tikki Chaat is incredibly tasty and comes together very quickly. While we often make and enjoy Aloo Tikki Chaat, you can also use sweet potatoes instead of regular potatoes for a delicious twist. These sweet potato tikkis are just as flavorful and satisfying.
Steps

Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly 3–4 times to remove any dirt. Place them in a pot with water and bring to a boil on the stove.

Boil the sweet potatoes for about 15–20 minutes until tender. Remove the skins and place the sweet potatoes in a bowl. Mash them well, then add turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, chopped cilantro, chopped green chilies, and salt to taste. Mix well.

Add cornstarch to the mixture and combine thoroughly. Shape the mixture into small patties. Heat oil in a skillet and shallow fry the tikkis on low to medium heat until lightly golden.

Fry all the tikkis until golden brown. Place the cooked tikkis on a plate for serving.

Top the tikkis with whisked yogurt, then drizzle with red chutney. Sprinkle chaat masala and black salt over the top. Add a pinch of red chili powder if desired.

Garnish with potato sev, chopped cilantro, and chopped green chilies. Sprinkle a little more chaat masala and a pinch of black salt on top.
