Steps

Soak rice for 5-6 hours and then coarsely grind by adding around 1 cup Milk.

Put milk to flame, Simmer milk for 5-6 minutes to reduce it, under medium flame.

Now gradually add cardamom pods + rice paste and keep stirring to prevent clumping. Keep stirring till rice cooks and starts thickening. Add sugar and stir well.

Gradually mixture thickens and the rice is cooked.Cook further for 2-3 minutes more and PHIRNI is done.

Immediately transfer to serving cups/bowls and refrigerate for 4-5 hours or overnight.

Phirni is ready to serve. Garnish with chopped dry fruits and serve.
