Banana extract

Malva nuts: Rinse the malva nuts thoroughly, then place them in a container with 4 1/4 cups warm water (1 liter). Cover and soak for 8 hours until fully expanded.

Black grass jelly: Prepare according to the package instructions. Pour into a container and let cool until set.

White grass jelly: Prepare as in step 4.

Basil seeds: Add 2 cups cool water (500 ml) to the basil seeds and soak for 30 minutes until fully expanded.

Sugar syrup: Combine the rock sugar and 2 cups water (500 ml) in a pot. Heat until the sugar dissolves, then simmer for 3 more minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

Serrated knife: Use to cut the grass jelly into long, striped pieces for a decorative look.

In a large bowl, layer the grass jelly, malva nuts, basil seeds, sugar syrup, and banana extract. Mix well. If serving immediately, add ice cubes. If not, store in the refrigerator; it keeps well for several days.
