Add masoor dal, water, kokam pieces, turmeric powder and salt to a pressure cooker. Cook for 4-5 whistles.

Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and onion, sauté for 2 minutes.
Add tomato puree, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt, garam masala 😋 and Red chili powder. Mix well. - 3
Add boil dal, water and bring to a boil for 5-7 minutes.
Mix the cooked dal with the spice mixture and garnish with coriander. - 4
Temper with ghee or oil.

Serve hot with Roti 😋 or chapati.
