My favorite chili oil garlic shrimp recipe made into a creamy pasta sauce! One of the most flexible recipes ever :)
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Defrost shrimp by soaking it in a bowl of cold water or thawing in the fridge overnight. You’ll want to account for extra time here.
- 2
Boil a pot of water for the pasta. I like using linguine but feel free to use your pasta of choice. Once water is boiling, add 2 servings of pasta.
- 3
Dice green onions and mince garlic cloves. Set aside
- 4
To a bowl, add oyster sauce, chili oil, ground black pepper, and honey. Mix well
- 5
Heat a pan on the stove. Add some cooking oil and then add in the minced garlic. Cook til golden.
- 6
Add the raw shrimp and cook both sides evenly. Make sure the pan is not too hot, shrimp cooks quickly.
- 7
Once the shrimp is almost fully cooked, add in green onions and pour in the mixed sauce. Stir to mix.
- 8
Add in your drained cooked pasta and a few spoons of pasta water. Turn the heat to a low simmer and add in the heavy whipping cream.
- 9
Cook until the sauce thickens and coats the pasta nicely.
- 10
If you have cilantro, feel free to add some for garnish. You can also serve with a drizzle of chili oil. Enjoy!

Chili Pasta Chili Pasta
Ok, everyone has their favorite chili recipe. But here’s a great spin on it that I picked up many years ago, from a sports-bar menu (Phil’s Tavern) in PA that makes sense. It’s very hearty and satisfying. If you question chili and pasta as a combo, then you’ve never been to Cincinnati, OH. [My extensive chili recipe is not published. Sorry!] Rick M -

This complete meal is convenient to make, tasty and juicy. I tend to make a big portion every time so I can save the leftover for extra meals for next few days and also share with my friends. Feel free to substitute minced beef with other types of meat. Vegetarian may substitute mince with soya granules. You could also add vegetables like beans, peas, capsicum, mushroom etc. The variations are endless. Nom Nom...nomnom
