According to Hindu tradition, Akshay tritiya is very important. It is said that if any auspicious work is to be started on this day, there is no need to watch any fortnight(choghadiya/ muhurt). From this day in Dwarka temple Chandan Wagha is carried out to Thakor Ji and this garvanu is kept in Bhog. It is given as prasad to those who come for darshan.
There are both religious and scientific reasons behind making it. In the heat of summer, this drink cools the body and is also a health booster.it can be made without raw mango also.

Steps

First of all heat ghee in a pan and add cinnamon, cloves, black pepper and fennel seeds. Then add wheat flour and fry everything. After 2 minutes add grated coconut and dry nuts and fry until it turns golden-brown.

When everything gets roasted, add boiled mango pulp and mix. Then add jaggery and hot water and stir continuously till it dissolves well. Add more water if needed. To keep the thickness like raab.

Akshay Tritiya's special garvanu is ready. Take out in a bowl and serve garnished with dry nuts, magjatari/ melon seeds and dry coconut.
