Ssamjang (Korean bbq dipping sauce for meat)

If you’ve ever been to Korean bbq you know that have dipping sauces for your meats and vegetables. My favorite sauce that Korean bbq offers is Ssamjang!
Ssamjang is a sauce that is mainly made of fermented korean chili paste (Gochujang) and fermented soybean paste (Doenjang).
Here’s a recipe I learned from my mother in law!

Ssamjang is a sauce that is mainly made of fermented korean chili paste (Gochujang) and fermented soybean paste (Doenjang).
Here’s a recipe I learned from my mother in law!
Steps
- 1
In a mortar and pestle add your Gochujang, Doenjang paste, and honey along with 3 cloves of garlic and crush till combined
- 2
Next add the kewpie Mayo, Tahini, sesame oil and sesame seeds and mix again (I used sesame kewpie Mayo but you can just use regular).
- 3
Now lastly add your chopped green onions and sesame oil and give it one more good mix until everything is combined.
- 4
Now it’s all done! You can pair this with your choice of grilled meats, vegetables and rice. My father in law loves to dip romaine lettuce leaves into Ssamjang.
