📌This is a lost and forgotten my mother's recipe. This healthy drink has not yet been posted on Cookpad by anyone. So excited to share with you all.
My mother always gave me when I became ill with stomach upset, diarrhea, or fever weakness when not feeling hungry to boost my energy level. Cooked and excess rice water, the cloudy liquid left after boiling rice is often discarded, but it helps in the digestion process and soothes issues like diarrhea, and food poisoning. Rice water and curd contain minerals and probiotics which are essential for gut health, and carbohydrates boost energy levels in illnesses like weakness and fever.
📌To cure illness, and boost Gut health and energy, always take it in lukewarm rice water with curd, and drink it.
📌In hot summer days, it helps to keep the body hydrated. Ice can be added if you prefer it.
📌In the olden days, 3 decades ago, we Indians used this starchy water to starch our pure cotton saree - blouse, kurta - dhoti..
It is also known as Kanji, Maand, Saar, and (in Gujarati language) Chaas Walu Bhaat Nu Osaman.
📌Today's trending rice water is used for skin nourishing and hair growth.

Steps

Wash and soak rice in water for 30 minutes. Take a pan add water, and soaked rice. Cook it in extra water.

When rice is steamed - cooked completely, strain its excess water in another bowl.

Wait to cool down a little bit. Now add curd, rock salt, black salt, and roasted jeera powder.

Whisk or churn it by using a whisker or hand churner.

Ready to serve. Pour in a glass. Drink it lukewarm as an energy booster. If you are not ill, you can add ice cubes to this Rice Water Buttermilk for more taste.
