I decided to try to make this for the first time after watching Momma Jackie's version. My first attempt was almost identical to hers, and it turned out great. My family has asked for it to be added to the rotation! #mommajackiesstrombolishowdown

Ingredients

35 minutes
3-4 servings
  1. Medium sized pizza dough
  2. 9 slicesprovolone
  3. 1 cupshredded mozzarella
  4. 9thin slices Genoa salami
  5. 6 slicesprosciutto
  6. 2 cupssliced or shredded pepperoni
  7. 6thin slices black forest ham
  8. 3 cupsmarinara sauce
  9. 2eggs
  10. 2 tablespoonsItalian seasoning

Cooking Instructions

35 minutes
  1. 1

    Preheat your oven to 400°F

  2. 2

Roll out pizza dough into roughly a 10"x 10" square. I get my pizza dough from a local pizzeria (size medium)

  3. 3

Even lay out the slices of provolone. They can overlap but you need to leave about 1" of dough uncovered around the entire perimeter

  4. 4

Evenly lay out and layer all of the meat slices.

  5. 5

    Top with the mozzarella.

  6. 6

Sprinkle half the Italian seasoning over the cheese and meat.

  7. 7

Fold the outer sides in just to barely over the outside edges of the meat and cheese.

  8. 8

Starting at the bottom, roll the dough nice and tightly into a log shape making sure the sides contained and the final seam is pinched shut.

  9. 9

Transfer to a parchment lined baking sheet seam side on the bottom.

  10. 10

Whisk the eggs and brush egg wash over the entire Stromboli. Sprinkle remaining Italian seasoning on top.

  11. 11

Place the baking sheet on the middle rack and bake for 30-35 minutes.

  12. 12

Remove and let rest for 10-15 minutes so the filling doesn't ooze out when you slice it.

  13. 13

Cut into 1 1/2" slices and served with warm marinara sauce for dipping. I cheat and just use Rao's! Enjoy!
