Apple Dumplin’s

A friend of mine gave me this recipe, except she used pears. I don’t care for cooked pears. So I substituted apples. This is delish! Especially with some creamy vanilla ice cream!
Apple Dumplin’s
A friend of mine gave me this recipe, except she used pears. I don’t care for cooked pears. So I substituted apples. This is delish! Especially with some creamy vanilla ice cream!
Steps
- 1
Preheat oven to 375*. Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish. Set aside.
- 2
Peel, core and slice both apples into 8ths. Place 1/2 cup sugar in shallow bowl and roll apples in sugar.
- 3
Unroll crescent rolls; separate each into 8 wedges (total of 16).
- 4
Place one apple wedge on the point and roll to the wide end, pinch ends to enclose each apple wedge. Place in prepared dish. Repeat with remaining apples and wedges.
- 5
Whisk together remaining 1 cup sugar and cinnamon. In saucepan, melt butter and sugar mixture whisk until blended. Pour over apple wedges. Slowly pour Mountain Dew over all.
- 6
Bake in preheated oven for 35-40 minutes. Let sit 5 minutes before serving.
- 7
Serving suggestions: I prefer a vanilla ice cream topper. Or you can use whipped cream. Or plain. Your choice. Enjoy
