Frog cake 🐸

Frog cake 🐸
Steps
- 1
Preheat your oven to 180c and prepare two four Inch tins.
- 2
In the bowl of your mixer, cream together your sugar and butter until smooth.
- 3
Add your egg and vanilla and mix again.
- 4
With a spatula gently fold in the flour, salt and baking powder until combined. Divide between two 4" our cake tins. Bake for 22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- 5
Allow to cool completely.
- 6
For the frog- I copied a picture to create my frog, I used green, white and orange fondant. I also cut out some flowers, leaves and my lily pad.
- 7
Icing- put your room temperature butter into your mixer and mix until it turns white.
- 8
Add your icing sugar, your choice of extract I used lemon and mix again until combined and silky.
- 9
Start to assemble your cake. Blob a bit of butter cream in the middle of your cake board and pop half your cake layer over it so it doesn't move.
- 10
Pipe your icing on your cake until covered then lay your other cake layer on top.
- 11
Cover completely with butter cream, smooth it out with icing scrapers. Pop it into the fridge to set for 30 minutes
- 12
Put some blue food dye into the remaining butter cream and mix until you get the right color.
- 13
Cover your cake with the blue butter cream and use your scraper to make it smooth. Put it back into the fridge for 30-40 minutes
- 14
Roll out your green fondant to the size of your cake so it will go around then roll it up with your rolling pin.
- 15
Wrap the fondant around your cake and smooth over with your fondant smoothers so you have green sides and a blue top (that will be your pond) cut off any extra fondant around the top and bottom of the cake to neaten it up.
- 16
Start to add your fondant leaves, logs, grass and flowers to your cake in any way you like, then pop your frog on the top. Enjoy! 😍😍😍
