  1. 1/2 poundgreen moong beans (about 225 grams)
  2. 2 cupswater (480 ml)
  3. 2green chilies
  4. 4-5garlic cloves
  5. 1 teaspooncumin seeds
  6. 2green chilies, finely chopped
  7. 3 tablespoonsfinely chopped onion
  8. 3 tablespoonsfinely chopped carrot
  9. 3 tablespoonsfinely chopped cabbage
  10. 2 tablespoonsfinely chopped cilantro
  11. 1 teaspoonsalt
  12. 1/4 teaspoonasafoetida (hing)
  13. as neededButter or oil,
  14. Tomato ketchup, for serving

    First, place the moong beans in a bowl and wash them 2-3 times with water. Then add 2 cups (480 ml) of water and soak for 6-7 hours.

    After soaking, transfer the moong beans to a blender jar. Add a little water, green chilies, cumin seeds, and garlic. Blend until smooth.

    Pour the mixture into a bowl. Add salt, asafoetida, and all the finely chopped vegetables. Mix well.

    Heat a nonstick skillet and lightly grease with oil. Pour medium-sized portions of the batter onto the skillet. Spread a little butter on top and cook on both sides until golden and crispy.
