Rinse toor dal and boil with water and turmeric until soft.

Heat oil in a pan, add cumin and mustard seeds, let them splutter.

Add chopped onion, sauté until translucent.

Add chopped tomato, cook until soft.

Add cooked dal and salt, simmer for 5 minutes.
- 6
Top it with ghee before serving.
Tips
You can adjust the consistency of the dal by adding more water if you prefer a thinner texture.
