Japanese Sponge Cake 🥮

"Hashira" Cake

This dessert is directly inspired by the anime series "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" (2019), a worldwide phenomenon full of adventure and excitement that already has 4 seasons.

My motivation: One of the secrets of Japanese animation is its ability to turn even food into pure art. The dishes shown in their scenes are always visually flawless, full of symbolism and detail, and deeply inspiring. This time, I wanted to capture that artistic essence in something sweet and accessible.

That's why I chose a simple cake or sponge cake, a dessert that, while easy to make, aims to convey the beauty and harmony that make anime unique.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to recreate this edible tribute to Demon Slayer.
