Mix leftover khichdi, tomato, onion, ginger-garlic-chili paste, and coriander in a bowl. Now Add salt, turmeric, gram flour, rice flour or semolina, baking soda, lemon juice, and sugar.

Mix well to form a thick batter. Add a little water if needed.

Grease an appam pan with oil and heat it. Pour spoonfuls of batter into the pan. Drizzle a little oil on top.

Cook on medium heat until golden on both sides. Serve in a plate with tea or chatni.
Tips
Ensure the batter is thick enough to hold its shape while cooking.
