In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form, then fold into mascarpone mixture.

Dip ladyfingers briefly in coffee (and liqueur if using).

Layer soaked ladyfingers and cream mixture in a bowl.

Repeat layers, finishing with cream on top.

Dust with cocoa powder.

Chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours before serving.
Tips
For a richer flavor, use a high-quality espresso and consider adding a splash of coffee liqueur to the coffee.
