Steps

Wash and soak rice and mix dal for 20 minutes. Wash all vegetables.

Chopped potato, onion, tomato and carrot. Heat oil in a cooker. Add mustard seeds, Cummin seeds, cinnamon, cloves, black pepper & curry leaves.

Add dry red chilli, asafoetida and curry leaves. Saute it well. Add chopped veggies, green peas and pigeon peas.Add green chilli ginger paste.

Saute it well. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and garam masala.

Add soaked rice and mix dal. Mix well. Add salt as per taste. Add 2 cup of water. Cover the lid. Make 3 whistles on medium flame.

When cooker cools down. Open the lid. Masala khichadi is ready. Serve with curd. Sprinkle green coriander.

Masala khichadi is a perfect light dinner. You can use any sesonable veggies.
Tips
Mix dal gives an extra taste.
