Wash and clean the kakdi. Make small pieces of kakdi.

In a pan take oil and as it gets hot add asafoetida and red chilli powder. Immediately add pieces of kakdi and water.

Cover it until the kakdi becomes soft. As it softens add salt, red chilli powder, haldi powder, dhaniya jeera powder and garam masala.

Mix well and add besan and again mix well and cover it for 2 minutes. Serve hot with puri,roti or paratha.
